1st Airplane Ride

This last weekend Odessa rode in an airplane for the first time. We went to see Grandma and Grandpa Crutchfield in Rupert, Idaho. Odessa did very well, only fussing for a minute or two before she fell asleep on daddy's shoulder.

Breastfeeding on MySpace

I recently heard about this news story from a MySpace friend. The story is a about a WA mom who has had her breastfeeding photos removed from MySpace. When she re-posted the photos, MySpace told her that they would delete her account if she kept posting them.

Here is the story:
http://www.kirotv.com/news/11083731/detail.html

Here is her account:

Here is the online petition mentioned in the story: http://www.petitiononline.com/Brstfeed/petition.html

I have added a photo of Odessa breastfeeding to my MySpace profile. Any moms on MySpace who want to do the same?

Saturday at Cannon Beach

Because the weather at Cannon Beach looked like this:

The only photo of Odessa we took is this:

In typical Crutchfield fashion, she preferred the cafe to the outdoors.

Here is Odessa working on adding her personal touches to the Valentines she is sending out.

Odessa's 1st Valentines Day

The heart locket is from my Grandma Shirley -- you can't tell from the photo but it has my initials inscribed on it!

The Pediatrician Made Me Do It

With Odessa sick all last week, her pediatrician said to give her any liquids she would take, just to keep her hydrated. So we broke out the popsicles! We know from experience that she loves sneaking licks of Auntie Kiki's. And this one was all for her -- okay, okay mama did share a bit. You should have seen her cute blue tongue afterwards!

Homebound No More

After too many days stuck at home with a sick baby, I finally made it out. Thank goodness. I considered getting out of this apartment a mental health emergency. I may have only made it to run a few errands, but man it felt SO good.

Summing it Up

Well like everyone else, it seems, the cold/flu has invaded our household. First Larry went down, then I did, and finally Baby O. Unfortunately Odessa seemed to catch the brunt of it with cold and flu symptoms all at once. Last night seemed to the worst so far with a temp of 102 lasting hours. She was miserable. So sad!

Bear has been identified as Wish Bear. I am assuming they do not market "gnarly motorcycle bear".

Happy 6 Month Birthday!!

Auntie Kiki made me these cupcakes to celebrate my half-birthday! Unfortunately it was a big tease as I wasn't allowed to eat them. But mama ate at-least three that evening...

Snow Day (s)

Tuesday and Wednesday we were stuck at home after Portland had a bit of a blizzard. Or, as close to a blizzard as Portland seems to get.

Bathtime

This is just one of many photos we plan to use to humiliate Odessa when she is a teen-ager [insert maniacal laugh here]. But, damn is she cute!

Okay so I may have too many hats now...

This is a hat that my Grandma made me... I think I look like a super-cute chicken.

Berlin Baby

Auntie Kiki came from Eastern Europe and brought me this super-cute outfit from Berlin. Danke! I am just a little concerned that they are going to put me to work cleaning the floors...

Auntie Erika's Visit

Auntie Erika came all the way from London for a visit!

I have been friends with Erika since we were in the same Kindergarten class in Boise, Idaho. I am so happy to be able to introduce her to my daughter.

Now I am trying to convince her to move to Portland with her hubby so we can buy matching Vespas with sidecards (for our babies, of course) and knit all day long...

Right Now

What I am reading right now: "Lucky Man" (Michael J. Fox bio...Very good)
What I am listening to right now: Jewel "Goodbye Alice in Wonderland"
What I am watching right now: Really nothing.
What I am eating: See's Candy.
Notes for the day: Have a baby.

Husbands are great at errands!

On Sunday I went out to run errands with my mom and my husband said that he would go the grocery store for us. When I got home, I didn't see any new food...

Me: "So did we get to the grocery store today?"
Lar: "I got there but my back started hurting really bad. I only bought one thing...coffee."
Me: (trying to ignore fact that we don't need coffee) "Okay we will go back later."

Later that evening...

Me: (trying to imagine Larry going all the way to the grocery store, only to buy one item and turn around and go home) "So, what grocery store did you go to?"

Lar: inaudible

Me: "What?"

Lar: "Office Depot."

It all becomes very clear...

Sauvie Island Thursday

My sister and I took my mom to Sauvie Island last night and went Krueger's Farm. I think that we all had a really good time. I can't wait to go again in the fall when the corn maze and pumpkin patch is out. How I love fall!

What not to do on a Tuesday...

Well, today I discovered something about going off of birth control pills. It really messes with your hormones and can make you cry in your bosses office for thirty minutes (in a meeting!). Additionally, you may end up disclosing private things about your mental health that you had no intention of disclosing, and quite frankly, didn't want to disclose!

Email Conversation with Larry

Me: I need you to teach me how you add photos to your blog, you little blogging cutie.

Him: Will do, my sexy kitten of love.

Me: I would like to lick your face with my scratchy tongue and purr at you. Sorry, too much caffeine for me today.

For a Wednesday

Reading: Too many fashion magazines.
Watching: Curb Your Enthusiasm.
Listening: Jason Mraz
Eating: Sugar cookies and Apple Chips.
Note for the day: Caffeine makes me happy.

Today is the first day that my I am not on birth control. I guess we can officially say we are in the family planning way although the family planning began many months ago. In February I began taking prenatal vitamins and working out regularly. In March I began doing TOO much pre-pregnancy research. I finally had to quit when each day I had a new neonatal disease to worry about. In May I got my varicella vaccinations (chicken pox).
